Ghana based luxury women’s fashion brand Christie brown has just released their eye catching ready to wear Winter’15 collection, dubbed Coup De Classe. Modeled by our very own Nigerian Victoria Michaels, the collection is by far one of the best I have come across this year.

The brand states that their aim is to infuse modernism into carefully selected traditional African aesthetic that transcends international borders and also about allowing women to experience the culturally rich and opulent side of Africa without having to compromise their personal contemporary style.

The truth of this statement is made evident in this new collection which is a refreshing mix of modern and local fabrics. It offers a classical contemporary and modern vibe with  each piece.

The design aesthetics is as structured as it is simple. It features a simple pencil skirt, overlaid with geometrical edges. High low detailing is observed in the peplum hems and the dresses. Scalloped edges, sheer accents, flared cuts, full skirts, and a jumpsuit which is a perfect match of bold and printed fabrics are part of the offerings of this collection.

Prints in the form of Gingham, hounds-teeth and checkers are expertly mixed with African fabrics which gives it its Afrocentric vibe. I am officially in loooove with this!
